Queenzy Chenoa Sutanto, a student at ABC Kids Elementary School Kota Wisata, won the 2022 Kulon Progo Cup IV Regent Swimming National Championship among Open Associations in Indonesia, which took place in the UNY Wates Campus Swimming Pool on May 21-22, 2022.
Queenzy won the swimming competition in three categories simultaneously, taking first place in the 100 meters freestyle category, first place in the 50 meters women freestyle category, and second place in the 50 meters backstroke category. In total, she received two gold medals and one silver medal.
It is worth mentioning that before this competition, Queenzy also achieved a gold medal, three silver medals, and a bronze medal at the DKI Jakarta Provincial Championship on May 26-28, 2022.
As a young athlete, Queenzy prepared diligently before this competition. Such preparations include physical exercises and maintaining a healthy diet. Last but certainly not least, her parents greatly supported her in the swimming competition.
She said she often swam before leaving for school and did physical exercises in the afternoon. The support from the ABC Kids teachers is also one of her strong foundations that gives encouragement and motivation.
“I am pleased with this victory. My parents and teachers at school share this triumph,” she said proudly.
Queenzy admitted that she had wanted to be a swimmer since she was a child, following in her mother’s footsteps, Nancy Suriatmadja, an Indonesian swimmer. She revealed that many dreams need realization, and she hopes to be able to join the national swimming team and win high-level national and international championships.
