Brighton High School Kicks Off the Year with Inspiring Orientation Session

On June 15th, the auditorium of Brighton High School was filled with a mixture of excitement and nervous energy as teachers and new students gathered for the annual orientation session. This event, marking the beginning of the academic year, set the stage for a year of learning and growth.

As everyone settled into their seats, teachers introduced themselves one by one, sharing their backgrounds, teaching philosophies, and enthusiasm for the year ahead. These introductions helped to ease any anxieties and built a sense of familiarity and community among the new students.

The session continued with a focus on Brighton High School’s core values: respect, kindness, and inclusivity. These principles, deeply ingrained in the school’s culture, are essential in fostering a supportive and positive learning environment. “Our mission is to create a community where everyone feels valued and respected,” stated Mr. Zakie, the principal of Brighton JHS Kota Wisata.

A significant highlight of this year’s orientation was the emphasis on promoting an anti-bullying culture. Brighton High School stands firmly against all forms of bullying, including teasing, exclusion, and online harassment. “Bullying in any form is not tolerated here. We believe in treating each other with empathy and understanding,” Mr. Zakie emphasized. Teachers shared strategies and resources to help students stand up against bullying and support their peers.

The orientation session provided students with comprehensive information about school schedules, the curriculum, and extracurricular activities, ensuring they were well-prepared for the year ahead. More importantly, students left with a clear understanding of the school’s commitment to a safe and inclusive environment.

By the end of the session, new students felt a sense of belonging and were ready to embrace the values and principles that define Brighton High School. The orientation not only equipped them with practical knowledge but also instilled a commitment to uphold the school’s values of respect, kindness, and inclusivity.

As the new academic year begins, the Brighton High School community looks forward to a year of mutual support, learning, and growth, confident in their shared commitment to creating a positive and welcoming environment for all.
