Brighton Junior High School Kota Wisata made an exciting leap into the world of digital media by hosting its very first podcast episode. Titled “Brighton Podcast,” the show debuted with Mr. Zakie, the principal of Brighton JHS Kota Wisata, serving as the host. The inaugural episode featured a special guest, Ms. Antin, the vice principal of Brighton JHS Kota Wisata, making it a memorable start to this new platform.
The Brighton Podcast is designed as a space for open conversations, allowing the school community to share thoughts, experiences, and even discussions on what they’ve been hearing, watching, and reading. The debut episode highlighted how the Brighton podcast serves as a platform for conversations, sharing thoughts and experiences, and discussing what we’ve been listening to, watching, and reading, “Brighton Podcast is a media where students, especially teachers, will have a place to share their thoughts, ideas, and experiences. So, this media helps people to express their ideas”, said Ms. Antin.
She also hopes the podcast will be a student learning tool. The students will also develop the ability to speak carefully and thoughtfully in front of an audience, whether their peers, teachers or a wider community. “With this podcast, students will learn how to speak in public because when we want to share things in public, we have to be very careful about what we have to say, so that’s why they learn about that.”, said ms Antin.
Mr. Zakie and Ms. Antin’s dialogue set the tone for future episodes, which are expected to explore a wide range of topics relevant to students, educators, and the larger community. As a media tool, the podcast reflects Brighton JHS’s commitment to creating diverse opportunities for learning, interaction, and growth.
