Brighton JHS Kota Wisata Cibubur celebrates Teacher’s Days 2021. An extremely enthusiastic atmosphere is felt in the school environment as a form of gratitude from students to teachers. In compliance with the COVID19 protocols, the school commemorated this year’s celebration in hybrid.
The school opened the event by presenting the Voice Club Performance photo slides from the teachers. Afterward, teachers conduct their performances. And as a form of gratitude from students to teachers, the former gifted cakes, flowers, and special greetings to the latter.
Muhammad Zakie Walad, the school principal of Brighton JHS Kota Wisata, described that Teacher’s Day 2021 was met with enthusiasm beyond expectations. In the previous year, Teacher’s Day must be held for no more than half an hour. Despite the ongoing health protocols, the remaining 50% of students at home also felt the same enthusiastic atmosphere as those who studied in school.
“This year, children and parents’ enthusiasm was extraordinary,” said Zakie. “We facilitated a space for Hybrid and PTM. Perhaps there is a sense of longing to attend the school on this Teacher’s day.”
Due to the ongoing pandemic, students and teachers have been learning and teaching in hybrid for two years. After being in isolation for such an extended period, everyone is looking forward to celebrating this event.
“Initially, it was supposed to be a simple concept of expressing gratitude. However, the reality exceeded the expectations,” added Zakie.
Farras, Chairman of the Brighton JHS Kota Wisata Student Council, expressed that “Teacher’s day is the perfect time for students to express their gratitude towards their teachers. For without their guidance, we are nothing.”
Three words to describe teachers: “Teachers are heroes, the embodiment of compassion and knowledge,” said Farras.
Farras and his friends talked to their parents to raise funds to purchase something meaningful for teachers to prepare for this event.
Farras agreed that “people often say that teachers are like our second parents in the school community. We would not be where we are now in terms of education level had it not been for them.”
As the student council president, Farras, together with his friends, contributed significantly to making the event as lively and successful as this year
