It was a rainy Wednesday morning; we took our Pre-K & K1 students and had their annual dental hygiene checked by a professional. Other than hygiene purposes, there are other reasons why we took our students to a dentist. Firstly, we were on a topic that talked about many different professions and occupations; we thought dentistry was an excellent choice. Next, we wanted to instill confidence in our students in every dentist visit and maintain their dental hygiene with regular check-ups every six months.
We made the dentist visit fun and memorable for the students. When they first came, we sang a familiar song for ice break. Then we divided it into two smaller groups – one group was getting to know how to brush your teeth properly and also educating why brushing your teeth is an important activity to start the day. Meanwhile, the other group learned all of the dentist’s equipment and the check-up process during the visit.
Finally, we wrap up our two dentist visit sessions for the day. We would like to thank all of the KINDERI nursing and administrative staff, especially Drg. Danar Pradipta Rani, Sp. KGA, for being patient and making these dental visits such a pleasant experience for our students. Thank you for making sure that our visits are not scary. Hopefully, we will see you next year!
