Empowering Educators: HEI Teachers Toolkit Socialization at ABC Kids Kindergarten

On January 5, 2024, educators from ABC Kids kindergarten gathered for a transformative event: ‘’Preschool Teachers Development Program’’. This event marked a significant step in the evolution of our educational approach, integrating the innovative Finnish-inspired curriculum with local educational standards. HEI Teachers Toolkit, renowned for its play-based methodology aligned with the National Core Curriculum of Finland, offers a versatile framework adaptable to diverse educational contexts, including Asian, Middle Eastern, and American standards. At ABC Kids Kindergarten, we have embraced this progressive curriculum alongside the Kurikulum Merdeka, enriching our students’ learning experiences with a dynamic blend of global best practices and local cultural relevance.

The HEI Teachers Toolkit is more than just a curriculum, it’s a pedagogical philosophy centered around play, exploration, and holistic development. Drawing inspiration from Finland’s renowned education system, the Toolkit prioritizes experiential learning, fostering creativity, critical thinking, and social-emotional skills. Its adaptable nature allows educators to tailor activities and learning objectives to suit their student’s unique needs and cultural contexts.

One of the key strengths of the HEI Teachers Toolkit is its compatibility with diverse educational frameworks. At ABC Kids, we recognized the importance of preserving cultural identity while embracing global educational best practices. By integrating the Toolkit with Kurikulum Merdeka, which emphasizes autonomy, mastery, and purpose, we’ve created a synergistic approach that honors our students’ heritage while preparing them for a rapidly changing world.

The implementation of the HEI Teachers Toolkit in conjunction with the Kurikulum Merdeka has resulted in many benefits for our students. By engaging in play-based learning activities, children are able to develop essential skills such as problem-solving, collaboration, and communication in a natural and enjoyable way. Additionally, the focus on self-directed learning encourages students to take charge of their own education, promoting independence and a lifelong love of learning.

The HEI Teachers Toolkit Socialization served as a platform for professional growth and collaboration among our educators. Facilitated by experienced trainers, the event provided insights into effective implementation strategies, practical classroom techniques, and opportunities for reflection and peer learning. By investing in continuous professional development, we ensure that our teachers are equipped with the knowledge and skills to deliver high-quality education that meets the evolving needs of our students.
