Day 1: Arrival After a Long Journey
After a long 12-hour bus journey, the students of Brighton JHS Kota Wisata arrived in Yogyakarta. Exhausted but excited, they settled into their hotel, preparing for the adventures ahead.
Day 2: Exploring Yogyakarta’s Cultural Treasures
The next day, rejuvenated and ready to explore, the students set out to discover the gems of Yogyakarta. Their first stop was the awe-inspiring Borobudur Temple, one of the largest Buddhist temples in the world. The students marveled at the intricate carvings and the sheer grandeur of the monument, learning about its historical and cultural significance.
After a morning of historical immersion, the students headed to the bustling streets of Malioboro. The vibrant atmosphere, filled with the sounds of street vendors and the scents of local delicacies, provided a stark contrast to the serene ambiance of Borobudur. Here, the students not only shopped for souvenirs but also engaged deeply with the local culture.
As part of their cultural exploration, the students participated in traditional crafts workshops. They tried their hands at menganyam (weaving), creating intricate patterns with natural materials. The experience of playing traditional music instruments brought them closer to the melodic heritage of Yogyakarta.
Day 3: Souvenir Shopping and Farewell
On the final day of their trip, the students visited a local souvenir center. Here, they selected gifts for their loved ones, each item a token of the unforgettable experiences they had in Yogyakarta. The students excitedly picked out batik clothes, traditional crafts, and local snacks, eager to share a piece of their journey with family and friends.
As they boarded the bus to return to Brighton, a sense of fulfillment and nostalgia filled the air. The field trip to Yogyakarta had not only been an educational experience but also a journey of cultural discovery and personal growth. The students returned home with memories that would last a lifetime, enriched by the vibrant history and traditions of Yogyakarta.
The field trip was truly an amazing experience for everyone involved, leaving the students with stories to tell and lessons that extended far beyond the classroom.
