Learning is even more meaningful when it’s hands-on, creative, and fun! At ABC Kids Kindergarten Kota Wisata, our little learners recently took part in a special cooking activity in collaboration with Selera Klasik, a delightful session where they discovered the joy of making sushi, a japanese rice roll with ingredients such as vegetables, fried egg, chicken or sausages.
The atmosphere was filled with excitement as our young chefs put on their aprons and gathered around the table. Guided carefully by the Selera Klasik team and their teachers, the children began by exploring the ingredients — fresh vegetables, rice, seaweed, and more. Step by step, they learned how to cut, roll, and press the sushi.

For many, it was their first time holding a bamboo mat and watching how a simple roll could turn into a food. Each child had the freedom to create their own version, adding their favorite fillings and proudly showing off their masterpiece. The best part? Getting to taste what they made!
Beyond the fun of cooking, this activity carried valuable lessons. It encouraged fine motor development, hand-eye coordination, and early independence as students learned to follow steps and work patiently. It also introduced them to cultural appreciation, giving them a small but meaningful glimpse into Korean cuisine and traditions.
At ABC Kids, we believe that experiences like these help children connect learning with the real world, not only their knowledge but also their curiosity and creativity.
A big thank you to Selera Klasik for this fun, flavorful learning experience! 💛
