Playing as a Form of Learning With ABC KIDS

Learning can be defined as a process or effort individuals make that allows changes in behavior, both in the form of knowledge, skills, attitudes, and values through experiences or other forms of materials.

A curriculum is the main foundation of a teaching guideline in the academic setting. As the world changes, so do curriculums. And now, numerous types of learning curriculums are available to cater to different parents.

It is no secret that Finland has one of the best learning curriculums in the world. Considering that, as of February 2022, ABC Kids school has been incorporating the Finnish way of learning into our existing curriculum through HEI Schools Teacher’s Toolkit. Such a curriculum is a play-based learning method.

With a new curriculum infused into the existing one, the question arises: “how does ABC Kids School support the play-based learning method for its students?”. The following is the explanation,

The initial step taken by ABC Kids teachers in implementing the play-based learning method for their students is first to understand the condition or character of the students and provide them the space and time to play. Playing activities can be in the form of guided or free-play.

In addition to involving playing time in the school curriculum, our school incorporates outdoor activities into the learning system to achieve a comprehensive education for your children.

So what are the benefits or advantages that your children will learn through play? Research-backed beliefs state that children who learn through play grow to become individuals with high social intelligence and good behavior, are more active and have high linguistic and cognitive skills.

We hope this short article provides you with a brief explanation of the HEI Schools Teacher’s Toolkit and how ABC Kids school incorporates the former into our existing curriculum.
