Scoliosis Education Program at Brighton JHS: Promoting Spinal Health Awareness

In a continued effort to promote health and wellness among students, Brighton JHS Depok and Kota Wisata recently hosted an educational session on scoliosis, led by RS Meilia Cibubur. The event aimed to raise awareness about scoliosis, a condition that affects the curvature of the spine, and its potential impact on the health and development of young people.

  1. Zenik Kusrini, SP.KFR, from RS Meilia Cibubur, led a session focused on the importance of early detection and understanding of postural disorders. “This is an educational initiative about scoliosis for children, aimed at raising awareness of postural disorders,” she emphasized. During engaging discussions, Dr. Kusrini provided students with vital information on recognizing the symptoms of scoliosis and the significance of maintaining proper posture.

During the session, medical professionals from RS Meilia Cibubur provided valuable insights on early detection, signs to watch for, and the importance of proper posture in preventing scoliosis. The students learned that regular screenings and maintaining a healthy lifestyle can significantly contribute to better spinal health. Through engaging presentations and demonstrations, they gained a clearer understanding of the importance of taking care of their spines, especially during their growth years.

The interactive session included a Q&A segment, allowing students to ask questions and seek advice on how to protect themselves from scoliosis. RS Meilia Cibubur emphasized the importance of early intervention and regular check-ups to prevent the condition from worsening.

The scoliosis education program is part of Brighton Junior High School’s commitment to creating a healthy school environment and prioritizing the well-being of its students. By providing essential health information, the school and its partners aim to empower students to make informed decisions about their health and well-being. This event highlights the crucial role of collaboration between schools and healthcare providers in equipping students with the knowledge necessary for a healthy future. Brighton Junior High School is grateful to RS Meilia Cibubur for their commitment to student health and for contributing to the success of this session.
