Swing it on, Jamie!

Jeremiah Alessandro Siahaan
Grade 5
Congratulations to our student Jeremiah Alessandro Siahaan, who showed outstanding performance and won the Junior Golf Tournament on January 20th – 22nd. This tournament is one of the most prestigious tournaments besides the National Championship Tournament, featuring 50 junior golfers of his age from Indonesia and abroad. This tournament is managed by the Indonesian Junior Golf, the largest non-profit community that encourages golf for children in Indonesia.

At the beginning of the interview session, Jamie mentioned that this victory was a memorable experience for him since this was his first victory after arriving in fourth place at the previous tournament.

This competition consisted of two rounds of golf. All participants must strike for 18 holes in each round and were given approximately 5 hours to finish the holes. Jamie stated that his best swing in the competition was around 200 meters.
Jamie described that his golf journey began during online schooling in mid-2021 when his father took him to the driving range to exercise. What was initially done as exercises turned into tournament participation afterward. Now Jamie practices his swing five times a week.

When asked what areas in golf he would like to improve further, he mentioned three things: driver, short game, and putting.

He concluded the interview by saying, “more practice, practice, practice.” as a preparation for his next tournaments.

Well done, Jamie. Let us send him positive energy and we look forward to seeing his performance!
