History
ABC Kids and Brighton JHS are independent institutions under Yayasan Karya Kasih Mandiri, founded in 1998 and 2008 by the late Drs. Wasis Sastroredjo, former Rector of Petra Christian University (1988–1997).
Rooted in holistic education, our approach nurtures the wellbeing of each child while fostering a sense of responsibility towards the Creator, the others, the environment, and the wider world.
In essence, the concept of education should not only be geared towards intellectual pursuit but also physical, emotional, social, and spiritual well-being.
Today, the foundation is led by the second generation, Mr. Ir. Sigit Permana, MM., who carries forward his late father’s values while shaping a progressive vision for the future of education.
ABC Kids and Brighton offer a holistic education across our 8 campuses, with learning conducted predominantly in English alongside Indonesian. Beyond academics, students are encouraged to pursue their interests through sports, arts, music, volunteering, and research. Through these experiences, they develop the confidence, character, and perspective to grow into well-rounded individuals.
